PLUS Malaysia: Sinkhole Detected on NKVE Near Kota Damansara, Lane Closures in Effect
A sinkhole has reportedly appeared in the emergency lane of the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) on November 12.
PLUS Expressways Berhad (PLUS Malaysia) announced on their Facebook page that the emergency lane and part of the left lane at KM18.6, southbound between Kota Damansara and Damansara, have been closed for safety due to the sinkhole.
PLUS wrote, "A sinkhole incident has been reported in the emergency lane at KM18.6 (heading southbound) of the NKVE between Kota Damansara and Damansara. The emergency lane and half of the left lane are closed for the safety of highway users."
"Please check traffic updates on the PLUS app or on PLUS Malaysia’s X page, @plustrafik, to plan your journey. Thank you for your patience and cooperation. Drive safely."
The sinkhole follows heavy rainfall that led to flooding in the Damansara area, causing major traffic jams and leaving some vehicles stranded in floodwaters.
Motorists are advised to plan their routes accordingly if heading in the direction of the sinkhole and to stay safe on the roads.
