MET Malaysia Issues Level 1 Heatwave Alert for Seven Areas Across the Peninsula
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MET Malaysia) has issued a Level 1 heatwave warning via its Facebook page for seven areas across Peninsular Malaysia.
In their post, they stated, “Hot weather status update, October 24 (Thursday) at 6 am. There are 7 areas in the Peninsula at Level 1: Larut & Matang and Kuala Kangsar in Perak, Gombak and Petaling in Selangor, Wilayah Persekutuan Putrajaya, and Maran and Temerloh in Pahang.”
“At this alert level, daily maximum temperatures are expected to reach 35 to 37 degrees Celsius for at least three consecutive days.”
They also encouraged the public to check their website for daily heatwave updates and more information.
