US Pizza Malaysia Plans to Rebrand as 'Kita Pizza' If They Get Over 10K Likes and Comments on Post, Amidst Branding Discussion
In a recent update, US Pizza Malaysia has playfully responded to the ongoing discussion surrounding their brand name through an Instagram post. The company, having previously clarified that 'US' in their name symbolizes 'kita,' meaning 'us' in Malay, not the United States, has now introduced a light-hearted challenge via social media.
The latest Instagram post showcases a graphic that reads "US PIZZA → KITA PIZZA," accompanied by a caption suggesting the possibility of a name change. The post proposes that if it garners 10,000 likes and comments, they will officially adopt the name 'KITA PIZZA.'
As of now, the post has garnered over 4,000 likes and 300 comments. Suggestions for US Pizza Malaysia's rebranding include considering "MY Pizza" as a new name and modifying the logo's stars to better reflect the Malaysian identity.
This strategic move seems to align with their earlier statement, emphasizing the local ownership of the Prima Saujana outlet and asserting their Malaysian identity. This comes at a time when local businesses are actively distancing themselves from international controversies.
