Tesla Unveils Its Biggest Supercharging Station Yet in Southeast Asia, Located in Malaysia
Tesla has recently inaugurated its largest Supercharging facility in Southeast Asia, centrally situated in Selangor, Malaysia!
Located within Gamuda Cove, Selangor, this new facility stands as the largest Tesla Supercharging station in Southeast Asia, underscoring Tesla's dedication to advancing the global shift towards sustainable energy. In collaboration with Gamuda Land, Tesla aims to foster a nature sanctuary alongside a smart, eco-friendly city.
Unveiled on March 20th, the Supercharging station at Gamuda Cove boasts six Superchargers and 18 destination chargers, a substantial leap forward in enhancing accessibility and convenience for electric vehicle owners in the region.
Tesla intends to further expand its charging infrastructure and network in Malaysia, with additional Tesla charging stations slated to go operational in the near future.
Charging rates at the Supercharging station remain steady at RM1.25/kWh, complemented by an idle fee of RM4 per minute when the station is fully occupied to discourage overuse. As for the destination chargers, they are currently available for free to Tesla owners until further notice.
Tesla is committed to offering a holistic charging solution and a seamless user experience with its "plug in, charge, and go" philosophy. Through the Tesla App, users can effortlessly check Supercharger availability, navigate to them, and monitor charging status. Payment for Supercharging is conveniently handled through the Tesla App's stored payment method, granting Tesla owners the liberty of travel and hassle-free charging.
To date, Tesla has launched a total of seven Supercharging stations and nine destination charging stations in Malaysia, encompassing 36 Supercharger bays and 55 destination charger bays. Furthermore, in its efforts to facilitate travel between Malaysia and Singapore, Tesla continues to expand its charging network into Singapore, boasting a total of 11 Supercharging stations and nine Destination Charging stations.
