Sze Fei-Izzuddin Power Their Way Into China Open Final
KUALA LUMPUR: Men's doubles pair Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani advanced to their first final since turning professional at the China Open today.
They overcame Indonesia's world No. 88 duo, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Daniel Marthin, with a 21-14, 24-22 victory in 42 minutes at the Olympic Sports Centre Gymnasium in Changzhou.
Currently ranked world No. 22, Sze Fei and Izzuddin, who left the national team on Sept 1, will compete in their second final of the year, following their triumph at the Japan Open last month.
They are the second Malaysian pair to reach the final of the Super 1000 event, after mixed doubles team Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai.
Sze Fei and Izzuddin will face the winners of the other semi-final between China's world No. 7 pair He Ji Ting-Ren Xiang Yu and fellow Malaysians Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi tomorrow.
