Russian Woman Arrested in Setia Alam for Indecent Behavior and Obstructing Traffic While Walking Her Dog
A video recently went viral on social media showing a foreign woman shouting after being detained by the roadside.
Reports identified the woman as a 32-year-old Russian, who was allegedly walking her dog when she was arrested for indecent behavior and obstructing traffic in Setia Alam.
Shah Alam OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim said, "We received a call from the public about a woman acting erratically and sitting in the middle of the road in Setia Alam at around 4:50 pm on Wednesday (Oct 9)."
When police arrived, they found the woman intoxicated and behaving aggressively, with a dog by her side.
Further investigation revealed she had no identification documents, leading to her arrest. She was taken to the Shah Alam district police headquarters, while her dog was handed over to the Shah Alam City Council.
According to Mohd Iqbal, the woman entered Malaysia four years ago for a vacation but couldn't return to Russia due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
"She also lacked the funds to return home. She tested positive for THC and has been remanded until Oct 22."
ACP Mohd Iqbal urged anyone with information to contact investigating officer Sjn Mohammad Shamsul Md Salleh at 017-5453234.
