RM50 Million Allocated for PLKN 3.0, Set to Launch in January 2025 for Participants Aged 16 to 35
The National Service Training Program (PLKN) 3.0 will be relaunched in stages starting January 2025. According to Deputy Defense Minister Adly Zahari, the initial phase will involve a small number of participants, with a broader rollout planned for June 2025.
Adly stated that PLKN 3.0 will target participants aged 16 to 35 and will feature several structured learning modules. "The government has allocated RM50 million to initiate PLKN 3.0, with the first intake beginning in January," he said.
For this initial intake, approximately 500 participants will be placed in two camps to pilot the program before a larger rollout in June, according to Berita Harian. Thirteen military camps, including those in Kuala Lumpur and Pahang, have been designated as locations for PLKN 3.0. These camps are undergoing refurbishments and are expected to be fully operational by 2026 to accommodate future participants.
In a related update, Adly shared that under the Ministry of Defense’s PJM initiative, repairs on 10 houses in Melaka were completed within the first 10 months of this year. To support this initiative, the ministry allocated RM138,500 for refurbishing five residences in the Alor Gajah parliamentary area, with the remaining repairs in the Tangga Batu parliamentary area.
