Rapid KL and Trek Rides Introduce RM2 Transit Fare for Malaysians Traveling Between LRT/MRT Stations
As traffic congestion worsens and car ownership expenses rise, an increasing number of working adults are turning to public transportation. However, the limited accessibility of LRT/MRT stations in certain areas of Malaysia poses challenges for many commuters. As a result, some still resort to driving and parking at stations or using e-hailing services for their daily commute, which can be inconvenient.
To address these concerns, Rapid KL has partnered with Trek Rides to offer a solution. They recently announced a convenient option for just RM2, providing a cheaper alternative for traveling to and from LRT and MRT stations via their vans.
Rapid KL announced the collaboration on their social media, stating, "Good news for our passengers! We are collaborating with Trek Rides to offer more convenient transportation options to and from our stations!"
The On-Demand Responsive Transit (DRT) service, which offers hassle-free transportation to and from LRT, MRT, and bus terminals, is now available at 15 stations across the Klang Valley. These stations include LRT Bandar Puteri, LRT Taman Perindustrian Puchong, LRT IOI Puchong Jaya, LRT Bandar Kinrara 5, LRT Universiti, LRT Kerinchi, LRT Pandan Jaya, LRT Pandan Indah, LRT Cempaka, LRT Cahaya, LRT Setiawangsa, LRT Jelatak, LRT Ampang, MRT Cochrane, and MRT UPM.
In addition, Trek Rides is offering a 50% discount to Universiti Malaya students residing in Bangsar South, reducing the fare to RM1 per ride. This initiative covers four zones: Ampang, Puchong, Hulu Kelang, and UPM Serdang.
Commuters interested in utilizing this affordable transportation option are encouraged to download the Trek App.
This partnership not only improves accessibility to commuting but also marks a significant advancement in the public transportation ecosystem in the Klang Valley.
