Malaysian Shares How to Get a 'Late Slip' From RapidKL for Train Delays, Similar to Japan!
Sometimes, unexpected events like train delays can cause commuters to arrive late at work. In countries like Japan, lateness is taken seriously, and passengers can obtain a train delay certificate to prove it's not their fault.
You might not know, but you can get a similar certificate in Malaysia!
In a viral post on Reddit and X by LRT user Aida (@_aidaans), she shared a photo of the train delay slip she received from a RapidKL employee. The slip was authenticated by the employee on duty, as seen in the picture.
Aida's journey was delayed on the Kelana Jaya line while commuting to work on May 23rd. Her post recently resurfaced after another user shared it on the Reddit group r/Malaysia.
"Today I learned that RapidKL issues train delay certificates upon request. Here's mine, retrieved due to this morning's disruption," Aida wrote in her post.
A RapidKL employee confirmed that anyone affected by a delay can receive the slip by simply visiting the counter at their destination and requesting the document.
"Just fill out a form, and we will issue the slip to you. This also applies to MRT users."
Alternatively, if affected users don't have time to get the slip from the counters, they can screenshot the delay notifications posted on RapidKL's social media pages. The company regularly updates information about delays and the resumption of normal operations on these platforms.
