Popular Video Captures Alluring Thai Performers at Recent Kelantan Concert Celebrating Loy Krathong Festival
Coldplay's concert may be over, but the unforgettable spectacle continues, with additional shows lined up for the rest of the year, possibly sparking renewed calls for bans. However, a recent, less-publicized concert in an unconventional location has taken social media by storm, leaving Malaysians astonished.
Last Friday night (November 24), a concert featuring seductive Thai singers took place in Bachok, Kelantan. The video of the performance made rounds on social media and was shared by local singer Baby Shima on her Facebook account, highlighting the irony of the concert's location.
Baby Shima remarked, "They used to ban my show and recently Coldplay’s show in KL. Apparently, there’s a sexier show going on there."
Nor Azmiza Mamat, the head of Wanita PKR Kelantan, also responded to the viral concert, stating that it did not comply with the state's Entertainment Control Enactment. In Azmiza’s statement, she mentioned that the concert was held in conjunction with the Loy Kratong Festival.
While Azmiza acknowledged the festival's permissibility, she criticized the attire of the Thai singers on stage, urging the state government to investigate the violation of the enactment. She added, "Unless the concert in Kelantan is not affected by the Entertainment Control Enactment of Kelantan."
According to a shared concert invitation on Facebook, the event did take place in Bachok, Kelantan, and was open to all Buddhists in connection with the Loy Krathong Festival and Thod Krathin Samathi.
Despite this context, netizens remained shocked by the nature of the concert held last Friday night. One comment humorously noted, "In Selangor, it’s called immoral. In Kelantan, it’s called tolerating."
