Olympian by Day, Server by Night: Silver Medalist Zhou Yaqin Spotted Working at Her Family's Restaurant
One of the most heartwarming moments from the recently concluded Paris 2024 Olympic Games has to be the adorable reaction of Chinese gymnast Zhou Yaqin playfully mimicking Italian gymnasts Alice D’Amato and Manila Esposito as they bit their medals on the podium.
Despite the viral moment and winning a silver medal at just 18 years old, Zhou has remained grounded and hasn’t let her success go to her head.
The Olympic silver medalist returns home to help at her parents’ restaurant
This humility was highlighted in a recent viral video featuring Zhou. After returning home as a national hero with a silver medal in the women’s balance beam, the Olympian was spotted helping out at her family’s restaurant.
In a Douyin video reposted on X (formerly Twitter) by @lsjricna, Zhou is seen assisting her parents by serving dishes to customers.
As of this writing, the video has received over 704,900 views and more than 13,000 likes on X.
Similarly, a Weibo post by Zhou promoting her family’s restaurant, which was also reposted on X by @ouyushanskorbut, went viral, amassing over 973,000 views and 14,000 likes.
The post includes four photos: two of the restaurant’s dishes, one of the interior, and one of a wall dedicated to Zhou’s gymnastics achievements. Awww!
