Malaysians Now Eligible for 30-Day Visa-Free Stays in China
China has agreed to extend visa-free stays for Malaysian travelers to 30 days.
According to the Malay Mail, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi made the announcement during the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China on 31 May.
Ahmad Zahid stated that the implementation will commence once the agreement is signed.
Previously, Malaysians could visit China without a visa for up to 15 days.
China has also extended its visa-free policy for 12 countries until 31 December 2025.
Travelers holding ordinary passports can enter and stay in China short-term without a visa for business, tourism, family visits, and transit purposes.
In addition to Malaysia, the 12 countries include France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Ireland, Hungary, Austria, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
Similarly, Thailand announced it would increase visa-free stays from 30 days to 60 days for travelers from 93 countries.
