Malaysian Shares Convenient Travel Journey from Northern to Southern Peninsular Malaysia via KTM
As Malaysians, many of us have pondered the idea of traversing Peninsular Malaysia within a set timeframe, perhaps even in a single day! However, one Malaysian gentleman recently turned this concept into reality by embarking on a journey via the Keretapi Tanah Melayu (KTM), detailing his experience along the way.
Illustrating his journey, Malaysian content creator Vishnu shared a video clip documenting his travels on his TikTok page @vishnuwalk.
Commencing his expedition, Vishnu narrated how he seamlessly purchased his train ticket using the dedicated KTM application on his smartphone, thereby saving considerable time. Outlining his itinerary, Vishnu aimed to travel from Ipoh to Johor, with a stop at Gemas, Negeri Sembilan en route. However, he encountered a setback initially upon finding out that direct tickets from Ipoh to Gemas were sold out.
Undeterred, Vishnu embarked on an adventure and devised an alternate route, opting to travel from Ipoh to KL Sentral, then from KL Sentral to Gemas, and finally from Gemas to Johor Bahru Sentral.
Setting off around 8:00 am, Vishnu disclosed that his first train journey from Ipoh to KL Sentral lasted approximately two and a half hours, costing him RM51. Upon arrival, the content creator took a break to enjoy a drink and leisurely explore the city, as he had a two-hour gap before his next train departure.
At 12:20 pm, Vishnu boarded his second train bound for Gemas, also taking about two and a half hours, bringing the total expenditure for this leg of the journey to just RM30. Vishnu praised the amenities aboard the KTM, noting the spacious seats and cleanliness of the restroom, ensuring a comfortable trip.
Upon reaching Gemas, Vishnu lauded the station's convenient layout, with his connecting train to Johor Bahru Sentral conveniently stationed opposite the platform he disembarked from.
"It was incredibly straightforward! From Gemas to JB Central, the journey took around four and a half hours and only cost me RM21," Vishnu remarked in his TikTok video.
Feeling peckish along the way, Vishnu appreciated the presence of a café within one of the train compartments, allowing him to purchase a sandwich and enjoy the scenic views.
"In total, I spent just RM102, and the entire journey from Ipoh to Johor took about nine hours," Vishnu concluded in his video.
Receiving accolades from numerous Malaysians online, Vishnu's content was praised for its informative value, potentially aiding others seeking similar adventures. Many also marveled at the picturesque scenery captured during his train ride.
