Malaysian Resident Suffers RM6K Robbery and Injury at the Hands of Baseball Bat-Wielding Robbers in Klang
In a bold act of armed robbery, two individuals armed with a long machete and a baseball bat targeted a man who had recently withdrawn money from a bank in Persiaran Pegaga, Klang, last Friday.
The incident, captured on a dashboard camera, has gained widespread attention on social media, revealing the daring nature of the assault.
Wearing dark-colored hoodies, the assailants approached the victim's Mercedes Benz at a traffic light intersection. Displaying unexpected aggression, they smashed the car's windshield with their weapons in an attempt to access the recently withdrawn money.
The victim's attempt to escape was hindered by congested traffic at the intersection. Video footage clearly shows the victim sustaining injuries to his fingers during the attack.
The perpetrators successfully snatched a bag from the victim's right side mirror, highlighting the vulnerability of individuals even in crowded areas during broad daylight.
The 40-year-old victim suffered a broken finger bone on his left hand and a scratch on his right arm. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a nearby private medical center.
Deputy Police Chief of Klang Selatan District, Superintendent Kamalariffin Aman Shah, confirmed the incident, noting that they received a report at 7:20 pm on Saturday, as reported by Berita Harian.
The victim had withdrawn a sum of money from an ATM machine on Jalan Meru at 2 pm on Friday before falling victim to the armed assailants.
The estimated losses incurred by the victim, totaling RM6,000, include a stolen laptop and damage to both door mirrors. Authorities are treating the case under Section 394 of the Penal Code, addressing robbery with injuries.
Police are urging the public with any information to contact IPD Klang Selatan at 03-3376 2222 or the nearest police station.
