Malaysian Father Burns Rempit Son’s Motorcycle, Declares 'Better This Than Him Dying on the Streets'
How do you handle a teenager who refuses to learn and keeps finding excitement in street racing? A father from Selangor took matters into his own hands when his son repeatedly snuck out at night to race his motorcycle—by setting the bike on fire.
In a viral TikTok video shared by @kajolmarey01, the father showed the burning motorcycle and explained that this was the consequence for his rebellious son, who had been racing ever since he got the bike.
“When you got this motorcycle, you went wild! It’s better I burn this bike than see you die on the street!” he said while pointing to the flames.
His message wasn’t just for his son, but also for other teenagers.
“This is a warning to all the kids who don’t listen to their parents and stay out late at night!”
“This is my way, and as a father, I fear two things…”
In a follow-up post on September 19, the father reflected on his drastic action, acknowledging it might seem extreme but insisting it was his way of teaching his son a lesson.
He shared that he’d rather see his son lose his motorcycle than face the two things he fears most as a parent:
“My biggest fear is getting a call from the police, telling me my son is either in jail for Rempit offenses or worse, that he’s dead.”
He also urged young people to remember how hard their parents work to support them.
“I don’t care what others think of me. This is my way of teaching my son.”
