Malaysian Driver Blocked by Two Double-Parked Cars Takes Action After Waiting Two Hours
Double parking has become so prevalent in Malaysia that it seems nearly impossible to curb. Kishore recently shared an incident he experienced after parking his car in Ampang Jaya.
After attending a nearby course, he returned to his car around 4:20 PM, only to find it blocked by not one, but two cars that had double-parked—one in front of and the other beside his vehicle.
The drivers didn’t leave contact information
Typically, when someone double parks, they leave a contact number so they can be reached to move their car, or at least leave the handbrake down so the car can be pushed out of the way.
Unfortunately for Kishore, neither of these common courtesies was observed. He was stranded, unable to move his car, and had to seek assistance.
“I tried using the intercom at the toll gate, but they said they couldn’t help. There was no security in the parking lot, either. I contacted the Municipal Council to request a tow truck, but they informed me they don’t send tow trucks after 5 PM, leaving me with no way to move the cars,” he explained.
After waiting for two hours, Kishore called the police for help, only to be told that they couldn’t assist either.
They had to physically lift the car out of the way
In desperation, he reached out to his friends, hoping they could help physically move the Perodua Axia that was blocking his car. Initially, they struggled but eventually succeeded.
“At 6:25 PM, my friends and I finally managed to lift the back of the Axia and angle it to create enough space for me to get my car out.”
He left notes for both drivers
Frustrated after waiting over two hours, Kishore left notes on both cars, expressing his annoyance at having to figure out how to free his vehicle on his own.
“We need to raise awareness about this issue because it’s becoming a major problem in Malaysia. People are double parking without any consideration these days.”
