Malaysian Boss Scolded by Gen Z Employee's Mother After Complaints About Company
A Malaysian boss anonymously shared frustrations about challenges with Gen Z employees, particularly those born in the 2000s. In a post on XUAN Play, the boss recounted an incident where a young employee complained to their mother after being reprimanded at work. The mother then confronted and scolded the boss.
“What happened to those born after 2000? Recently, I hired a post-00 employee with a poor mentality. They complained to their mother after I scolded them, and then the mother scolded me,” he wrote.
‘Are those born after 2000 untouchable?’
The boss expressed surprise at the employee’s reaction and the mother’s involvement, questioning the challenges of being a boss and creating job opportunities.
The boss also noted that even their children don’t scold them, unlike the employee’s mother.
“What’s wrong with me being a boss and hiring workers to do their job? I created job opportunities for those born after 2000, so what’s wrong with that? Even my own children haven’t scolded me, but this employee gets scolded by me and then has their mother scold me. Many of my peers have experienced similar situations.”
Peers of the boss have reportedly faced similar issues with Gen Z staff.
The post concluded with a reflection on whether the problem lies more with the parents of Gen Z than the generation itself.
“Everyone, are those born after 2000 untouchable? They can’t be scolded, hit, talked to, or compared with others. Please just let them stay at home and be mama’s boys.”
