Law Enforcement Officer Gains Online Attention for Alleged Persistent Mistreatment and Slapping of Individual; PDRM Initiates Investigation
"To protect and serve" is an oath every police officer must take before commencing their duties, but not all possess the necessary qualities to fulfill this commitment.
Shortly after the extortion and sexual harassment case involving two policemen, a video surfaced on X, portraying a police officer publicly abusing a man by repeatedly slapping him. The incident's timeline remains unclear, and the remorseless policeman was heard saying, "You skip fasting, and now you're stealing!" as he continuously and brutally slapped the distressed man at an undisclosed restaurant.
The man, not in uniform, also seized the victim by the head. Unbeknownst to him, his information was disseminated on Telegram, revealing his name and position. According to leaked information, he holds the rank of sergeant major at the Sri Gading police station in Johor.
The viral video quickly caught the attention of the police through the influence of social media. According to an official statement released by the Johor Chief Police on January 12, they are actively investigating the matter. The statement highlighted that the sergeant major serves as the chief of the police station in Sri Gading.
"We will take necessary actions without any compromise," assured the police in the statement. PDRM also called upon the public to step forward with any information to assist in the ongoing investigation.
