Kajang Police Officers Arrested at KL Entertainment Centre Party, Test Positive for Drugs
In recent news, three police officers from the Kajang police headquarters were arrested while attending a party at an entertainment centre in Taman Dutamas, Cheras.
According to a statement from the Selangor Police, it was confirmed on Saturday, October 5, that the officers, aged between 37 and 57, were among 14 individuals detained during a police raid at the venue.
The officers tested positive for drug use.
The raid was conducted by the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department from the Selangor police headquarters, following a tip-off.
Selangor Police Chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan reported that after inspections and urine tests, all 14 individuals, including the three officers, tested positive for drugs.
"All 14 individuals, including the three officers, tested positive for drugs. The suspects have been remanded for two days, from October 5 to October 6, for further investigation under Section 15(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952."
Strict action will be taken against the officers
Hussein stated that the officers were promptly handed over to the Management Department at the Selangor Contingent Police Headquarters while awaiting investigation results.
He also stressed that officers and personnel are prohibited from being at entertainment centres unless on official duty.
Furthermore, he warned that strict actions, including criminal charges, would be taken against any officers involved in drug abuse or who violate regulations.
