Firefighter Attempts to Return Monkey to the Wild, but the Affectionate Primate Refuses to Part Ways
TikTok content creator and firefighter Mohd Faizan recently documented an incident in which he was tasked with releasing a wild monkey back into its natural habitat. Based at the Kijal Fire and Rescue Station in Terengganu, Faizan shared a TikTok video on his account @pjesingo2, featuring him and the monkey in a deserted area surrounded by greenery.
In the video, Faizan, holding the monkey, attempts to place it on the ground. However, the monkey swiftly explores the area around the firefighter. Shortly after, it jumps onto Faizan's back, engaging in playful climbing. To entertain the animal, Faizan spins a couple of times as it ascends to perch on his shoulder.
Despite Faizan's attempts to disengage the monkey, it remains comfortably seated on his shoulder. Eventually, the monkey jumps down to the ground, and the clip concludes shortly afterward.
Resonating with viewers, some expressed that the monkey exhibited a clear bond with Faizan, indicating a desire to stay with him. One commenter even humorously mentioned they would have taken the monkey home based on its reaction.
“He knows he’s being left there, that’s why he’s holding on, so he can follow you. If it was me, I’d just keep him and take him home,” wrote one user in a lighthearted tone.
Additionally, several individuals commended Faizan for his gentle handling of the untamed creature, noting the evident affection the monkey displayed towards him.
Faizan explained that his department received a call from a nearby school reporting a monkey on their grounds, seeking assistance from the firefighter to remove it. "I think I took him far away from the school, somewhere close to the fire station. Our station is near a coastal forest, so I released him there, and he eventually went on his way," shared Faizan.
Despite the brevity of their interaction, Faizan mentioned that the monkey quickly developed a connection with him upon their initial meeting.
