Typical Day at UKM: Playful Monkey Fearlessly Descends Electric Cable
Monkeys, renowned for their clever antics, were showcased in a recent TikTok video by user @camiieeyy, also known as Syahmi. Titled "A Typical Day in UKM," the video captures a monkey descending from an electric pole on a lengthy cable at Kolej Burhanuddin Helmi, situated in the hostel area of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
The footage reveals other monkeys in the vicinity of the college building, contributing to the amusing spectacle. The video concludes with a glimpse of Syahmi's orderly room, which had been tidied up after the unexpected visit from the monkey.
In an exclusive interview with WeirdKaya, Syahmi recounted the incident, finding the monkey's descent unexpectedly hilarious upon returning from the law faculty the previous evening. He mentioned regularly closing windows and doors to prevent these crafty creatures from entering his room. Syahmi emphasized that UKM is consistently inhabited by monkeys, especially in the evenings when they scour the area for food, resulting in littered trash cans.
This wasn't the first encounter, as Syahmi recalled a previous incident where a monkey pilfered his dinner from his room. He highlighted the scarcity of trash cans in the UKM vicinity, and even when available, the lids are typically closed. Despite this, the monkeys demonstrate their intelligence by finding ways to open them. Syahmi cautioned people to be vigilant as monkeys in the area have a tendency to be aggressive.
The TikTok video, at the time of writing, has amassed over 290k views. The comment section reflects viewers' amusement, with some making light-hearted remarks about the monkey's antics. One comment playfully suggested the monkey might be training to be a firefighter, while others speculated about its potential qualifications for joining the firefighter force.
