During His Visit to the Ramadhan Bazaar, a Vendor Directly Addresses PMX Regarding the Strain of High Living Expenses
Yesterday, Prime Minister Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim made a visit to a Ramadhan Bazaar in Perlis before attending a nearby buka puasa event. During his visit, he received a friendly message from a Mak Cik, which slightly "interrupted" the occasion.
Surrounded by the crowd, the Mak Cik approached PMX near his car and urged him to consider the increasing cost of living, as highlighted in a viral TikTok post by @wanpakyatowingperlis.
"Things are getting expensive. You really need to pay attention to it!" the Mak Cik reminded PMX earnestly.
Anwar smiled and nodded in acknowledgment, perhaps recognizing that the Mak Cik voiced what many Malaysians have been wanting to convey to him personally.
She also mentioned to Anwar that the Ramadhan Bazaar is typically not as crowded, but the atmosphere changed significantly on that day, especially with the knowledge of the PM's visit. Anwar jokingly asked if he should visit the bazaar every day, to which she humorously replied,
"Yes, you should come here every day!"
Before PMX departed in his car, the Mak Cik expressed her gratitude for listening to her by saying, "I love you! Bye!"
The crowd burst into laughter as PMX left the scene.
According to Pak Ya, PMX's visit took place at the Ramadhan Bazaar in Gua Sami, Seriap, Perlis, known locally as the mini version of Putrajaya. The Perlis Menteri Besar was also present.
When questioned about the cost of living, Pak Ya stated that everyone feels the impact of rising prices of goods. Additionally, he admitted that food prices at the Ramadhan Bazaar in Gua Sami are no longer as affordable as they used to be.
"The food prices are high today, unlike before."
