DBKL Took Action, But Issues Remain: Sunken Roads Spotted Near Sinkhole in Masjid India
Several areas with sunken roads have been spotted in Masjid India, not far from the sinkhole.
According to 8TV news, one sunken road was located in front of a police booth about 50 meters from the sinkhole, and another in front of a pharmacy.
Raja, a restaurant operator, mentioned that potholes frequently appear on this road. He reported the issue to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), which responded promptly, but the problem continues to recur.
"They responded quickly after receiving the report, and it took about a month to repair the dent. However, the issues keep coming back."
A pharmacy employee, who wished to remain anonymous, said she has worked in the area for a year and has always noticed potholes. She didn’t take them seriously until the sinkhole incident.
"Now I'm scared, and I have to be extra cautious."
A report by Sin Chew also mentioned that the sunken road areas have been cordoned off, and authorities are on-site to prevent the public from approaching these hazardous spots.
