Dog found dead

Dogs are a man's best friend, and they should be loved and handled with compassion just like any other pet. It's never easy to lose a pet and deal with grief, but sadly, a Malaysian woman just experienced the agony of losing her dog, which she owned for a long fourteen years!

Zenise shared on Facebook that she felt "different" and that something negative was about to happen after getting a call from her relatives regarding her missing puppy. The post went viral. Once the dog catchers from the City Council denied being involved, she hurried back to Bera, Pahang from KL and spent the entire day searching for her dog.

"One of the dog catchers informed me that my pet dog was abandoned in a landfill."

Zenise didn't waste any time in racing to the site after asking the man she spoke to for the precise location, but what she saw was even more tragic.

Her dog was discovered dead amidst a heap of dog carcasses!

According to Zenise's voice notes, the dog catcher told her that her pet dog was merely abandoned in the landfill and not put to death. What Zenise was forced to observe was very different.

How had my dog behaved? Why did you murder the defenseless dog? How come you didn't allow me more time to get my dog?

Zenise accepted the man's promise, but in exchange, she received her dog's carcass as payment.

Zenise reported that she had a cordial meeting with the district's City Council.

"While I acknowledge that not everyone loves dogs, I hope the local government can collaborate with pertinent organizations to properly catch strays, neuter them, and then release them."

Zenise also shared the outcome of the negotiation, and here are the common grounds that both parties have reached.

  • One month’s notice from the City Council prior to dog-catching operations. This will allow dog owners to keep their pets safe and put stray dogs in safe places.
  • Pet owners will be given at least 2 to 3 days to redeem their dogs.
  • City Council promised to work together with people from areas with stray issues.
  • No dog-catching operations will be launched unless the City Council receives complaints from the public.

The City Council also suggested dog owners put on tags for their neutered dogs.
