Water Supply in KL & Selangor to be Completely Restored by Friday Morning
Air Selangor has announced that water cuts affecting over a thousand areas in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor will be restored by Friday, 26 July.
In a statement published on Facebook this morning, 24 July, the water service provider reported that the four water treatment plants shut down on 23 July have resumed operations.
As of 9am today, 14.3% of the affected areas have started receiving clean and safe treated water.
By 8am tomorrow, 25 July, water supply is expected to be restored to 40% of the affected areas, with 90% restored by 8pm the same day.
Full restoration for all 1,112 affected areas in Petaling, Klang, Shah Alam, Gombak, Kuala Lumpur, and Hulu Selangor is expected by 8am on Friday.
"The duration of this water supply disruption and recovery in the affected areas will vary depending on the location of the consumers' premises and the water pressure in the distribution system.
"Air Selangor has been mobilizing water tankers to critical premises such as hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, and funeral service centers. Alternative water supply assistance has also been provided at 17 local service centers," it added.
Air Selangor urged consumers to run tap water for 5 to 10 minutes until it is clear before consumption if they experience discolored water supply.
Consumers can contact the company at 15300 if the water supply remains discolored.
