UPDATE: KL Sinkhole Rescue Operation Faces New Challenge with Strong Underground Water Current
The search for the missing foreign woman is still ongoing, but it has become significantly more challenging.
The turbulent water flow within the 8-meter-deep sinkhole has made the rescue operation more difficult. Kuala Lumpur Police Chief, Datuk Rusdi Mohd Isa, confirmed that the authorities are striving to locate the trapped woman before nightfall and assured that the mission will continue until she is found, according to a report by 8TV News.
Unfortunately, the authorities are unable to request Indah Water to shut down the drainage system, as doing so could lead to flooding and worsen the situation in the surrounding areas.
"We hope to find her before nighttime and pray that she is still alive," said Datuk Rusdi.
The victim has been identified as a 48-year-old Indian national. Stay tuned for updates, and for those on the road, please drive safely!
