PDRM: 10-Year-Old Child Found Dead in Swamp Likely Raped & Murdered
The 10-year-old child found dead in a swamp after being missing for a day was murdered, according to the latest update from PDRM.
During a press conference on August 18, Sungai Siput District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd. Khaizam Ahmad Shahabudin, stated that a post-mortem revealed injuries to the victim’s neck and private parts.
Khaizam also indicated that the child, Nuraina Humaira Rosli, was believed to have been sexually assaulted before her murder.
“There were pressure marks on her neck and signs of tearing on the victim’s genitals. The family also mentioned that the victim had hearing difficulties,” Khaizam added.
Nuraina was reported missing after playing near her village in Sungai Siput, Perak, last Friday.
A 17-year-old male suspect, who knew Nuraina, has been arrested to assist with the investigation. As of August 19, the suspect will be remanded for seven days, until August 25, following an order by Magistrate Nurul Asyifa Redzuan. The investigation continues under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
The case is still in its early stages, and Khaizam mentioned that the police will be interviewing additional individuals as part of the ongoing investigation.
“Please watch over your children”
During the press conference, Khaizam also urged parents to closely supervise their children and avoid leaving them unattended.
