More than a Dozen Pythons Discovered in Drain Near Mamak in Shah Alam
Occasionally, it becomes apparent that wild animals are encroaching on human-populated areas due to their habitats being destroyed by urbanization.
Here’s a startling reminder of this phenomenon.
The Shah Alam Fire and Rescue Department recently shared a post on its Facebook page, revealing a drain filled with baby pythons in Shah Alam.
They received a call about the snakes on August 7 and dispatched six personnel to the location. The drain is situated right next to a mamak eatery in Seksyen 20.
“Upon arriving at the location and conducting an assessment, it was confirmed that there were indeed snakes in the drain,” they reported.
By counting the baby pythons in the pictures shared, it is evident that there were at least 15 snakes.
Fortunately, the Bomba personnel successfully removed the snakes from the drain and will release them into a safe area where they can thrive.
