Malaysian Student Uncomfortable as Security Guard Confesses Feelings Late at Night

Frequently, an individual finds themselves in an uncomfortable situation when someone expresses romantic feelings towards them, particularly if the feelings are not reciprocated. This discomfort is exacerbated when one must encounter the person regularly, creating a challenging daily dynamic.

In a recent incident, a young woman, a student, is grappling with the decision of whether to relocate after a security guard at her residence confessed his unrequited feelings for her. She turned to the UTAR Confessions 2022/2023 Facebook page to share the details of the unsettling encounter.

In her post, she recounted, "Yesterday, after returning from a meal at the mamak, the night-duty security guard at Cypress condominium confessed his feelings for me. He disclosed that he is 22 years old, has been single until now, and considers himself different from friends of similar ethnicity. He assured me that he would take good care of me, offering to buy me anything I desired. Moreover, he mentioned that if I found someone else I liked, he would gracefully step aside."

This interaction left the girl feeling profoundly uncomfortable, particularly because it occurred in the early hours of the morning with no one else present. She admitted, "I was the only girl there, and I didn't know how to react. Fearful that he might react adversely if I rejected him, I, despite not having any romantic interest, always regarded him as an elder, estimating his age to be around 30 (though that's just my opinion)."

The student concluded by seeking advice on whether the night-duty security guard had made similar confessions to others and expressing her strong desire to move out of her current residence.
