Recently in Seremban, a Malaysian named Ying shared an incident that transpired at a restaurant, where a crafty customer managed to evade payment for his meals. The customer chose to settle his bills using the Touch 'n Go QR code, or at least he created the illusion of doing so. Seizing the moment when no one was paying attention, he swiftly affixed his self-printed QR code over the original one at the counter.

Successfully "paying" for his meals, the customer departed without raising suspicion. Unfortunately, several other unsuspecting customers also made payments to the imposter who had boldly placed his personal QR code at the counter. By the time Ying became aware of the situation, the stranger had amassed over RM100.

Ying expressed concern, stating, "If he could earn RM100 from each shop, imagine how much he could’ve made if he visited 100 shops! He would be earning 5-figures monthly by just scamming others!"

Ying further disclosed that they had successfully identified the stranger, a 53-year-old man residing in Seremban.

The customer eventually realized the discrepancy in the QR code's name. Meanwhile, Loke, a restaurant worker, explained that the establishment was bustling with customers entering and exiting simultaneously during the incident. Fortunately, a conscientious customer who paid after the stranger alerted Loke that the QR code did not match the restaurant's name. This revelation prompted Loke to investigate further, realizing that something was amiss with the QR code at the counter. However, complicating matters, the CCTV malfunctioned, preventing the identification of the man responsible.
