Malaysian Man Shocked by RM5.30 Sandwich with Barely Any Filling
Imagine being served a sandwich that looks packed with ingredients on the outside, only to discover that the reality is far from it. This was the disappointing experience of a man who bought a sandwich from a convenience store, only to find that its filling was nowhere near worth its RM5.30 price tag.
Man buys RM5.30 sandwich with almost no filling
In a Facebook post shared on Tuesday (Sept 10), Nazri Ahmad recounted purchasing a RM5.30 sandwich from a convenience store at a petrol station in TTDI Jaya. Initially, the sandwich appeared to be generously filled, but when his daughter pulled it apart, the truth was revealed.
One of the photos shows the filling pushed to one corner of the bread, giving the illusion of a well-stuffed sandwich, but it was far from the reality. To make matters worse, the sandwich label was riddled with spelling errors, including “healthy” misspelled as “helathy.”
Nazri expressed his frustration with the misleading presentation, sarcastically suggesting that the sandwich should be marketed as “an empty sandwich.” His daughter also voiced her disbelief, remarking on how easy it was for vendors to make money through such deceitful tactics.
‘Shameful!’
Outraged by the lack of transparency, netizens flooded the comments section to condemn the vendor’s dishonesty. Many expressed that such incidents damage the reputation of locally-made products and discourage support for them.
One commenter suggested renaming the sandwich to "Sandwich Scam" to reflect its meager filling accurately. Another advised Nazri to file a complaint with the convenience store to prevent future occurrences.
Nazri responded by revealing that the vendor had a history of complaints, underscoring the recurring issue with their products.
