MAHB Advisory for Festive Season Travel: Passengers Urged to Arrive at KLIA 4 Hours in Advance
Although air travel allows for swift journeys over long distances, it doesn't negate the fact that a considerable amount of time is spent waiting before boarding the flight.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) recommends that travelers during peak and festive seasons arrive at KLIA at least 4 hours prior to their flight, applicable to both domestic and international departures from KLIA. During holiday periods, there tends to be a surge in passenger traffic, and early arrival facilitates smoother check-in, security procedures, and boarding.
MAHB further notes that KLIA Terminal 1 is undergoing an upgrade of its baggage handling system to enhance operational efficiency. This upgrade, deemed essential for maintaining and improving overall airport infrastructure, may result in additional processing time at various points within the airport.
Passengers are urged to collaborate with both airport and airline staff, as reported by BERNAMA. MAHB expresses gratitude for passengers' understanding and patience, acknowledging that these necessary upgrades aim to ensure a safer and more efficient travel experience in the long run.
