Langkawi's Trending Eatery Issues Apology for RM5 Overcharge on Bottled Water
A spotlight recently shone on a Langkawi restaurant when a customer raised concerns about being charged RM5 for a glass of plain water. In response to the ensuing criticism, the eatery took to the 'LANGKAWI HARI INI (LHI)' Facebook group to provide an explanation.
Restaurant Afish, in a post, shared the receipt of the incident, acknowledging it as a mistake made by one of their staff members. They expressed apologies to the customer and pledged to reach out for a refund of the overcharge. The explanation clarified that the error occurred when the staff member incorrectly billed for a cup of Nescafe, neglecting to adjust the pricing to reflect the actual order.
Accompanying the post were additional receipts from other patrons, demonstrating that the standard charge for plain water is indeed RM1. The restaurant attributed the mistake to the fact that they had recently introduced breakfast service, leading to a influx of new staff. They sincerely apologized for the oversight, citing the learning curve with the new system.
Highlighting their operational history since 2015, the restaurant emphasized that the consistent charge for plain water has always been RM1. Expressing gratitude for understanding, they apologized once again for the error and thanked those who provided feedback, expressing a commitment to improving their service.
