Landslide in Puchong Causes Damage to Nine Houses and Four Cars
PUCHONG: A landslide occurred at Jalan Wawasan 3/9 in Pusat Bandar Puchong at 7:14 pm, resulting in damage to four cars and nine houses.
According to resident Abdul Rahim, 72, the incident was triggered by trees collapsing during heavy rain around 7:10 pm. "I witnessed trees falling due to the intense rain; when I went outside, I noticed the road had completely disappeared," he stated.
Azfarizal Abdul Rashid, deputy director of Corporate Planning and Strategic Management at MBSJ, advised residents of some houses along Jalan Wawasan 3/9 to relocate to the temporary relief center (PPS) at MBSJ’s Multipurpose hall in Laman Puteri 3, Bandar Puteri, Puchong.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, police officers, civil defence personnel, Air Selangor officers, and RELA members, were present at the scene. Subang Jaya mayor Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim inspected the site at 10:30 pm.
An investigation into the cause of the landslide is currently underway.
