Indonesian Individual Reveals his Method of Crafting a Christmas Tree with Cardboard and Basic Decor for RM75
TikTok content creator Roy Koro recently posted a video on his account @roymarthen31, showcasing the process of crafting an improvised Christmas tree at the restaurant where he works. In the video, Roy skillfully assembles a life-sized triangular prism using cardboard and masking tape. After meticulously wrapping the sturdy structure with Christmas garlands, Roy transforms it into a visually convincing Christmas tree.
Once the garlands are in place, Roy proceeds to adorn the "tree" with various decorations, including ornaments, candy canes, streamers, and a Santa Claus topper.
Roy explained that the idea struck him when he realized the high cost of Christmas trees in his home country.
"Christmas trees of the same height here could cost as much as IDR2,200,000 (approximately RM662). That's the minimum salary for an employee living in Indonesia, especially in the area I reside in," Roy mentioned.
After conducting some research, the TikTok creator discovered others constructing similar trees for their homes and businesses, motivating him to create his own. With all the necessary materials at his disposal, Roy mentioned that crafting the entire tree took about four hours and only cost him IDR250,000 (approximately RM75).
Receiving widespread acclaim online, many praised Roy for his remarkable creativity, asserting that his makeshift tree surpasses the appearance of most authentic Christmas trees.
"People are coming up with the most creative Christmas trees nowadays; it's fantastic!" commented one user.
