Farah Kartini's Friend Reveals: Suspect, a PDRM Officer, Was Not Her Lover
Farah Kartini, a 25-year-old student from Miri, Sarawak, went out to return a rental car and never came back. Her body was discovered days later at a palm oil plantation in Hulu Selangor.
According to an official statement by PDRM, a 26-year-old civil servant, alleged to be Farah’s boyfriend, has been detained for questioning. However, Farah’s best friend has a message for all Malaysians and the media.
The detained suspect is NOT Farah’s boyfriend.
In a viral X post by @puterizaira, she clarified and urged the media to be cautious with their headlines, stressing that the suspect caught by PDRM is not Farah’s lover.
“Farah was single and didn’t have a boyfriend. He had feelings for Farah, but she didn’t reciprocate.”
Puteri also reminded Malaysians not to believe headlines labeling the suspect as Farah’s lover.
In a shocking turn of events, PDRM released a statement today (July 16) revealing that the detained suspect is a fellow police officer who has served for five years.
“The suspect was a police officer at the Slim River Police Station in Perak,” stated the Selangor Chief Police.
Puteri repeatedly confirmed that Farah was never in a relationship with the detained suspect. When asked if she knew the man, Puteri said,
“I am not sure how they met, but the man is not Farah’s lover. She didn’t like him.”
In her other tweets, Puteri also urged social media users to be mindful of their words about the deceased, especially those who did not know Farah personally.
“Mind your words. Farah is no longer here. Who are you going to apologize to later? Please pray for her.”
Farah’s brother mentioned that her body would be brought back to Miri as soon as possible for her funeral.
Rest in peace, Farah Kartini. We hope the perpetrator will face justice soon.
