Check Prices Before Ordering: Malaysian Shocked by RM11 Price for Teh Ais at PWTC
In a viral Facebook post, Malaysian motivational speaker Fadly Samin expressed his shock at the price he paid for a simple meal at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (PWTC). Fadly spent RM29 on a portion of Lontong, a pack of noodles, and a glass of Teh Ais.
What baffled Fadly the most was the RM11 price tag for the Teh Ais.
There was nothing special about the Teh Ais; it wasn't served in a fancy container or with extra ingredients. It was just like any other Teh Ais you could find elsewhere.
Fadly was at the venue to meet his publisher and had no choice but to grab a quick meal at the restaurant.
He emphasized that his intention in sharing this was not to criticize the restaurant.
"It was merely a reminder to other customers. I wanted to remind them to ALWAYS check the pricing before ordering anything. Don’t be like me," he said.
Despite the high prices, the restaurant was packed due to the International Book Festival. Fadly had hoped to get breakfast at the food trucks outside, but they were still closed.
He also mentioned that he never expected to pay such a high price for a simple meal.
"The price for the Lontong and noodles was reasonable, but who knew that a glass of Teh Ais would cost RM11? My mistake for not checking the price," Fadly added.
