Bob's Burger in iShowSpeed: Taken Away During City Hall Operation
KUALA LUMPUR: Bob's Burger, a local burger stall that gained fame after being featured by American streamer iShowSpeed, has been shut down by City Hall (DBKL) following public complaints.
The stall was among several targeted during a DBKL operation on Wednesday after receiving reports of obstructions and littering in the Jalan Bangsar Utama area.
"DBKL conducted an investigation in response to these complaints and discovered obstacles and abandoned items in the reported area," DBKL stated on Facebook.
The DBKL Enforcement Department issued seven notices, instructing traders to clear the area, relocate their activities, and vacate the premises within three days of receiving the notice.
"Despite these notices, the traders ignored the orders and left their business items in public spaces," DBKL added.
The special operation, carried out by the Enforcement Department and the Lembah Pantai branch, focused on removing obstacles such as chairs and tables.
DBKL conducted five seizures under Section 46(1)(d) of the Street, Drainage, and Building Act 1974, confiscating items like canopies, stainless steel stalls, chairs, plastic tables, and other equipment. The seized items were sent to DBKL's storage facility in Cheras for documentation and further action.
DBKL emphasized that ongoing actions and monitoring would continue through special operations across 11 parliamentary constituencies in the capital.
In a TikTok video, Bob's Burger announced it had to temporarily cease operations and would share updates on its plans via WhatsApp.
