Are You the One? PJ Eatery Seeks Customer Who Accidentally Paid RM2.6K Instead of RM26 for Nasi Lemak
We've all had moments of accidentally overpaying, especially with the widespread use of QR code payments.
That's exactly what happened to two unsuspecting customers who mistakenly paid RM2,660 instead of RM26.60 for their nasi lemak at a Petaling Jaya eatery.
“Is this you?”
The eatery is doing everything it can to track down the generous customers, even posting a flyer with CCTV footage showing a top-down view of the diners, hoping to find and rectify the overpayment.
The flyer reads:
“Is this you? You mistakenly QR paid us RM2,660 for your RM26.60 bill. Help us find them.”
“We’re not omakase.”
The eatery also expressed its wish to return the extra amount, humorously clarifying that they are not “omakase.”
Sushi Umi Omakase explains that "omakase" means "I'll leave it to you," commonly used in high-end Japanese restaurants where the chef selects dishes based on the freshest ingredients and the diner's preferences.
Clearly, paying thousands for nasi lemak isn’t the experience this humble eatery aims to provide.
Netizens were quick to jump in, humorously pretending to be the two customers in the flyer, hoping to claim the windfall.
