After Kuantan, Kuala Lumpur In Turn Is Mentioned In Jujutsu Kaisen Thanks to Mei Mei, Fans from Indonesia Go Berserk
Following Kuantan, the mention of Kuala Lumpur now finds its place in the popular Japanese anime series Jujutsu Kaisen (JJK) Season Two.
In the most recent episode of the anime, the character May May references the city name Kuala Lumpur. This specific mention occurs around the 2:16-minute mark in the 22nd episode.
Sporting pajamas and a smile, Mei Mei says, "Me? I'm at KL."
Beyond the reference to Kuala Lumpur, the episode also showcases a depiction of a building resembling the Petronas Twin Towers and the KLCC Solar.
This latest episode of the well-loved Japanese anime series is available for viewing on the widely-used Netflix streaming platform.
Previously, Jujutsu Kaisen's anime had captured the attention of many Malaysians when another character, Kento Nanami, expressed his desire to visit Kuantan as a future destination.
During that particular moment, Nanami had conveyed his wish to settle in the capital of Pahang, spending his days reading books and enjoying the serenity of the sea. He even harbored dreams of building a home in a remote area near Kuantan for a peaceful retirement.
However, Nanami's aspirations were tragically cut short when he sacrificed himself to save Yuji, succumbing to Mahito's attack.
This emotional episode resonated with many viewers, marking the conclusion of one of JJK's most beloved supporting characters.
In response to the episode, fans wasted no time in setting up a 'memorial center' near Kempadang Beach, Kuantan, dedicated to commemorating the departure of the iconic character.
Notably, these devoted fans have marked the location on Google Maps with pins, possibly to assist fellow fans in paying their respects at the site.
