Worker Fired for Kissing Dough Claims She Was Only Transferred to Another Location, Not Let Go
Just last night (October 8), Auntie Anne’s Malaysia announced that the viral worker who was seen kissing bread dough had been dismissed, and the Mid Valley Kuala Lumpur outlet was temporarily closed for disinfection.
In a viral post on Xiao Hong Shu and Instagram, the former employee, Alice (who is the younger sister of the notorious Adeline Chang), claimed she was not fired but merely transferred to another outlet in One Utama.
“Please stop the cyberbullying. Can you give me another chance? Come support me at the One Utama outlet,” she wrote.
As "proof" that she was still employed, Alice shared an image of her punch card with handwritten time-ins and outs.
In an Instagram story posted this morning (October 9), Alice also alleged that she was slapped by a colleague the previous night, though she didn’t explain the reason for the incident.
“My face still hurts from the slap. Can I sue her?” Alice asked.
She did not apologize for kissing the dough but instead stated that Auntie Anne’s should thank her for increasing their social media engagement, claiming, “They hired me to boost their engagement.”
Is Alice still with Auntie Anne’s?
Alice’s posts, where she claimed she was only transferred to another outlet, have caused widespread concern online. However, Auntie Anne’s Malaysia quickly responded in the comments, reassuring the public that she is no longer part of the company.
“Alice has been terminated and will not be working at any of our outlets. Her statement reflects her personal view and is not associated with us in any way.”
