Whole Bowling Alley in Kedah Erupts in Cheers as Grandmother Takes Down 9 Pins with a Single Swing
Bowling, often perceived as a fun pastime for the younger generation, is an undeniably underrated sport. However, a certain grandmother is rekindling interest in the game in a unique way.
A recent TikTok video went viral, thanks to Malaysian fitness trainer Billy Ewilai, who shared a delightful moment of his grandmother showcasing her bowling skills at a bowling alley in Sungai Petani, Kedah. In the posted clip on his account @billy_kewratthanakpradit, the elderly woman, confidently handling a bowling ball, approaches the lane and releases the ball toward a set of pins.
Although she initially knocks down only a couple of pins, the spectators behind them erupt in loud cheers. Following a friend's advice, the determined grandmother takes another shot and impressively leaves only one pin standing this time.
The entire bowling alley bursts into applause, celebrating her accomplishment. Some even request to take photos with her, and when it's time to leave, Billy asks if she had a good time, to which she enthusiastically responds that she did.
Billy reveals that his grandmother, affectionately called Tok, frequently accompanies him to the gym during his training sessions. She often follows them to the bowling alley afterward to watch them play, as she resides with Billy full-time.
“I took a student of mine along to play bowling. On that day, one brother challenged Tok to see how good she was at bowling, so she gave it a shot and knocked it out of the park,” explained Billy.
The online response has been overwhelming, with many praising Billy's grandmother for her resilience and suggesting that she might be even better at the game than she realizes.
“Wow, it must have been an experience for her to play bowling!” commented one user.
