Malaysian Influencer, Aged 19, Purchases Mercedes Valued at RM170,000 in Cash
If you're an employed adult, one of the significant purchases you'll likely need to consider is buying a car for your daily commute to work. However, many individuals face challenges in affording a car due to financial constraints.
In Kuantan, Pahang, a young entrepreneur recently caught attention by acquiring a new Mercedes, and what's noteworthy is that she made the purchase not with a credit card but with cold, hard cash. Nurin Lofa, a 19-year-old influencer (real name Nurin Lofa Adrianna Kirana), shared with mStar that she made the purchase on November 30.
Nurin explained that she initially owned a Toyota Velfire in 2021 but sold it after five months to buy a Honda Jazz. However, facing issues with the used car on long journeys, she decided to upgrade to a new car, setting her sights on a Mercedes despite initially thinking it might be too lofty a dream.
"After calculating my budget, I realized it was still feasible," she said. Eventually, Nurin chose a Mercedes Benz CLA180, paying for it in cash at RM170,000 after selling the Honda Jazz.
With 1.7 million followers on TikTok, Nurin earns a living through modeling and social media reviews. She shared that her future aspirations include either operating a carwash or establishing a rental car business for a sustainable source of income.
Like many influencers, Nurin faces constant negative comments from netizens but takes it in stride. She emphasized the importance of civil criticism and urged those who resort to berating others to reconsider, emphasizing the impact of words on one's actions.
