Malaysian Child Resists Circumcision, Requires Assistance from Three Adults
Circumcision serves as a milestone for Muslim boys as they transition into adulthood. While the process has evolved from traditional practices involving a straight-blade razor, a cold river dip, and sitting atop a banana truck, videos capturing children resisting or attempting to flee from the procedure have surfaced on social media.
One such instance occurred during the Program Berkhatan Perdana. Utilizing school holidays as an opportune time for circumcision, a young boy, unable to bear the idea of the minor surgery, had to be escorted to the medical table by family members and staff.
Accompanied by the caption, "POV: When you refuse to be circumcised," similar videos have circulated online. In the comments section, a user shared their experience managing the situation with their child.
"My child was eager for the procedure, but we opted for a private clinic. Although he cried during the anesthesia, he remained calm throughout the process."
"Our child underwent the procedure at the age of 6," the user added.
