JB Entrepreneur Apprehended in Bangkok for Killing Employee Who Embezzled RM40K for Gambling
Attempting to seek refuge with his wife in Thailand, a Malaysian businessman was apprehended at Don Mueang Airport around 10 pm on Sunday (February 5th).
Thai Police, informed by Malaysian authorities, were prepared for his arrival. His involvement in the murder of a 24-year-old Malaysian Chinese employee at Route66 Club in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, sealed his fate, a fact he admitted during interrogation with Thai authorities, as reported by Thaiger.
A dispute over theft arose between the 31-year-old suspect and the victim, resulting in the victim's murder after the businessman assaulted him. Allegedly, the victim had stolen 300,000 baht (approximately RM40,000) and used it for online gambling.
Upon discovering the missing money, the suspect instructed his associates to locate the employee, who was found gambling online. Subsequently, three security guards brought him in for questioning, which quickly escalated.
"He confessed to assaulting the victim with a bottle while under the influence of alcohol," stated Thai police.
The victim's death resulted from the blow to the head.
Interrogations were conducted entirely in Thai. Currently, Thai authorities are collaborating with Malaysian counterparts to extradite the suspect to Malaysia for legal proceedings.
"He expressed his willingness to return to Malaysia to face the charges," according to BNN Breaking.
We anticipate that the suspect will face due legal process.
