Friend Murders Local Singer, Drives Her Lifeless Body Home After Two-Year Pursuit
On Monday (December 18), a friend brutally murdered a resident singer in Klang, driving her lifeless body home. According to a police statement released on December 19, ACP Cha Hoong Fong, Chief Police of South Klang, stated that the police received an emergency call providing details of the murder in Taman Chi Liung, Klang.
The 26-year-old victim, Xu Jia Ling, had lunch with the 44-year-old suspect at a Klang restaurant. Following lunch, the suspect violently stabbed Jia Ling multiple times outside his car and then transported her lifeless body to his residence. Despite attempting to revive the victim, the suspect was unsuccessful and inflicted harm upon himself with the same murder weapon.
Within three hours, a police team arrived at the suspect's house, arrested him, and discovered Jia Ling's corpse in the passenger seat of his car. The medical team later confirmed her death, attributing it to a stab wound in her chest that penetrated her heart.
Reports from China Press revealed that the suspect, who had been expressing interest in Jia Ling for two years, invited her to lunch. She informed her boyfriend about the lunch, with the last message received from Jia Ling at 1:30 pm on Monday. Upon his arrest, the suspect initially claimed to be Jia Ling's boyfriend, a fact unbeknownst to her family.
At the time of writing, the police are still investigating the motive behind the murder. It was also confirmed that the suspect has no prior criminal record. If found guilty, he could face the death penalty or a maximum jail term of 40 years. If spared from the death penalty, the suspect might receive 12 strokes of the cane.
The hope is for a fair punishment to be meted out so that Jia Ling's family can attain justice.
