[BREAKING] Albertine Leo Found Safe 380KM Away From Her Last Known Location
The 6-year-old girl who was reported missing in Iskandar Puteri, Johor Bahru, on Saturday, 20 July, has been found safe.
According to The Star, Albertine Leo Jia Hui was located at a hotel in Batang Kali, Hulu Selangor, on 23 July.
Leo was found approximately 380km from where she went missing at a Bon Odori event in Johor Bahru.
Selangor police chief Datuk Hussein Omar Khan confirmed Leo's discovery earlier today, as reported by the New Straits Times.
He also revealed that a suspect was arrested at the same location where Leo was found.
"The suspect was apprehended in Batang Kali at 4 am today. The victim is safe and has been brought back to Johor for further investigation," Hussein Omar stated.
Leo was taken to a hospital for a health checkup.
On Monday, 22 July, the police arrested three individuals to assist in the investigation of Leo's disappearance.
The three individuals, aged between 28 and 55, were arrested in Iskandar Puteri, Gelang Patah, Johor.
Following the arrests, the case was reclassified from a missing person report to Section 365 of the Penal Code for kidnapping.
In addition to kidnapping, the New Straits Times reported that the case is also being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act for sexually assaulting a child.
