12-Year-Old in Taiwan Requires Indefinite Kidney Dialysis After Year of Daily Fried Chicken Consumption
Some snacks may taste heavenly, but they're harmful if consumed excessively (especially sugary foods!). A 12-year-old student in Taiwan recently faced severe consequences after eating fried chicken every day after school.
He now requires indefinite kidney dialysis to cleanse his organs and remove toxins.
The kidney is one of the most crucial organs in our body. Without proper care, it can suffer severe damage, potentially leading to death. According to a Taiwanese media report, the boy spent his daily allowance on fried chicken after school.
In just a year, he consumed over 200 pieces of fried chicken. While delicious, this habit proved harmful.
Doctors explained that fried chicken, cooked in fat, is unhealthy. The recycled oil used for frying contains harmful substances.
"Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, isocyclic amines, acrylamide, and heavy metals are substances that pose serious health risks, especially to the kidneys," the doctor said.
He warned the public that these carcinogens not only damage kidney function but can also cause other health issues, recommending that such foods be avoided.
"Kidney health is crucial. High-fat, high-sugar, high-salt, and high-calorie foods, especially processed foods containing heavy metals and plasticizers, should be avoided," he advised.
While there's nothing wrong with occasionally indulging in unhealthy foods, overindulgence is dangerous. This serves as a reminder for parents to monitor their kids' dietary habits carefully.
