‘You Should Look for Another Job’ – Malaysian Woman Confronts Immigration Officer Over Rude Behavior

On August 15, an incident at an immigration office underscored the crucial need for politeness and respect in customer service roles. A TikTok video shared by user Rossneeda detailed an uncomfortable experience she had while waiting at the immigration visa and permit section.

Immigration officer reprimands woman holding a baby Rossneeda arrived at the office around 10 a.m. and waited in line for 20 minutes. During this time, she witnessed a troubling incident involving an immigration officer and two women, who appeared to be Indian nationals.

The officer harshly reprimanded the women, one of whom was holding a baby, which Rossneeda felt was unnecessary and uncalled for.

In her video, Rossneeda acknowledged that many government employees are polite and helpful, but noted that some display behavior that comes across as unprofessional and disrespectful.

This particular incident upset her enough that she decided to intervene and address the officer’s behavior directly.

‘If she doesn’t like her job, she should find another role‘

However, the confrontation didn’t go as expected.

The officer reportedly dismissed Rossneeda’s concerns, questioning why she was getting involved, which led to a verbal exchange.

Frustrated, Rossneeda told the officer:

“If she doesn’t like her job, she should find another role rather than working at the counter.

As a government servant, your duty is to serve the public with respect and empathy. If you can’t manage that, you shouldn’t be in customer service.”

The officer, seemingly unaffected, responded by pointing out the high volume of people at the counter, a justification that didn’t sit well with Rossneeda.

She emphasized that customer service should always be provided with a smile and politeness, and those who struggle with that might be better suited for other roles.

“Everyone deserves respect, regardless of their status or position,” she concluded in the video.
