‘What if Someone Had Died?’ – Nilai ADUN Fixes Large Pothole That Almost Claimed a Motorcyclist’s Life
Malaysians appreciate seeing elected representatives actively working on the ground for their communities, and a recent video showcases just that.
Nilai ADUN J. Arul Kumar took to TikTok after a motorcyclist narrowly escaped serious harm when his bike hit a pothole near a truck exit in Batang Benar, Nilai. Arul visited the site to investigate and found that the damage was due to heavy machinery frequently moving in and out of a nearby depot, causing the road to crack and develop dangerous potholes.
Arul noted that previous attempts to fill the potholes with concrete were contributing to the problem. Recognizing the need for a more sustainable solution, he reached out to the developers to discuss using a tar premix instead. "Concrete and tar premix don’t mix," Arul explained, stressing the importance of using appropriate materials to prevent future issues.
He stated, "I've requested the removal of all concrete remnants in the area for a safer fix." Arul also highlighted the responsibility of the developers, noting, "The road is under JKR’s jurisdiction, and it’s fortunate no one was seriously hurt. If someone had been, who would answer to their families?"
